The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Empty
PostSubject: The Vatican (Richard and Razial)   The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Icon_minitimeThu May 17, 2012 2:55 am

Razial had come to Earth in this dangerous time to see if there were any documents that the Vatican held that would be able to help her in her quest to find out what could have made the apocalypse come a good 500 years early, of course people everywhere were panicking and blaming Razial for what had happened, so she needed a break away from the constant accusations of Heaven.

The Vatican was one place that she and others would be safe, demons after all could not enter sacred grounds, and you could not get more sacred than the Vatican, it seemed as if other humans had the same idea, but had not quite managed to reach the Vatican, having died on the steps outside of the church. Many however now lay on the inside of the building, probably in search of food that the horseman had long since made rotten and inedible.

Moving into the Vatican Archives, Razial touched the automatic door, long since closed at the loss of electricity, it opened, and she walked inside, the Book of Knowledge shrunk into a side pocket she wore on her upper thigh.

The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Vatican (Richard and Razial)   The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Icon_minitimeThu May 17, 2012 3:05 am

Richard had been sent down to earth by Uriel, to find Razial and to just keep an eye on her. It had been a disorientating experience to one second be in Heaven and the next on the steps of the Vatican. He had to stand very still for a moment as he had the feeling that if he moved he was going to be ill. Once that feeling was gone, Richard made his way up the stairs into the Vatican. The corpses on the stairs both unnerved and saddened him. He had been a human not too long ago after all, they were his people.

Making his way down into the archieves, after asking some still living humans if they'd seen a beautiful woman who looked like she had eaten in the last two weeks, and pushed his way through the glass doors. Seemed the archieves had been run on electricity, which was no longer an option. Seeing Razial, Willow, in one of the rooms, he tapped on the glass as he slid the door open,

"Knock knock." he grinned crookedly, something about being alone in a room with a woman gave him some of his human confidence back, "Do you mind if I come in?"

PostSubject: Re: The Vatican (Richard and Razial)   The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Icon_minitimeThu May 17, 2012 4:19 am

Razial turned her head when she saw Richard entering the room, she couldn't even be on her own any more without someone trying to protect her? She knew that she was one of the weaker angels, but a pure angel she was, and she knew that she was more than a match for powers to any other that could protect her, nevertheless, she was glad for some company in this place, the people were saddening her...

Although she did not think that she was ready enough to let Richard, rather, Azrael see her cry, which is what she was thinking about doing hearing the people shuffling around outside of the room they were in, if only they could bring food here without it rotting on arrival.

"Please do, I need some help shifting through these documents, I just...need to find out how this has happened." she sighed frustratedly.

He could see that Razial wasn't exactly happy about having a minder at first but he hoped that she would warm to the idea. After all, if nothing else she was very attractive and he wanted to be closer to her. Not just because she was attractive but because she was nice and helpful where others were bitter and scornful. Moving into the room, Richard glanced around at all of the old pieces of parchment and couldn't help but have to fight the urge to sneeze,

"So anything related to the end of the world then?" he asked her as he looked through some of the files idly, "Like... why it happens and all that?"

Frowning a little bit, Richard wandered around the room and stopped behind a stack of documents. There was a dead man laying on the ground, so thin that it was obvious he'd died of starvation. But he was clutching a large file as if his life depended on it. Kneeling down, Richard raised an eyebrow,

"Hypothetical question..." he asked her, "If you, and everyone in Europe, was dying from famine... what type of documents would you grab from the vault under the Vatican?"

Razial turned to Richard and nodded her head, she knew that he preferred to be called by his last human name so that was what she would call him by, at least until he had come to accept and embrace the name of Azrael completely. Smiling gently she turned back to look for some more documents, the files being scattered made it so much harder than it needed to be.

"Yes, anything like that would be good, even though I do not think that the humans would know anything that we do not, however there is a slight possibility."

Sighing and rubbing her eyes, Razial's wings opened a little bit further as if to shelter her from the world around her while she looked, so only hearing a muffled version of what Richard said she turned fully around and looked where he was looking. It would seem something of importance was hidden away in here.

"I believe that you might be right, maybe...maybe you should look?" she asked, having a rather squeamish feel to taking the box from a dead man.

PostSubject: Re: The Vatican (Richard and Razial)   The Vatican (Richard and Razial) Icon_minitimeThu May 17, 2012 9:34 pm

Richard nodded a little bit. It was strange to even consider that anyone human would know something that an angel didn't know. They had a whole type of angel, Thrones he thought they were, who spent their whole existence watching earth. How could there be anything they didn't know? He nodded,

"Well perhaps they don't, perhaps they have a different perspective?" he suggested as he began to look around, "Using existing information to come up with new and exciting things."

He picked the file up from out of the dead man's grasp and was about to take it to Razial but paused for a second. John had told him his duty was to help guide human souls to Heaven after all. And from his understanding it wasn't hard. Kneeling down, he closed the man's eyes and made the sign of the cross on his face. The man's expression, even though he was dead, seemed to soften. He moved closer to Razial,

"Seems to be a collection of works that would explain where the horsemen come from..." he paused, "Says here that angels were supposed to be the ones to open up hell. But no angel would do that would they?"

Razial knew that there were things that humans liked to do that deviated from what they had originally been told, just look at the Bible for one example, it had been bent and twisted so far from what the Creator had intended...although it seemed to have gotten a little bit better when the New Testament as printed, not so much about rules...but still, she would have liked to have written it for humans. Maybe then they would have gotten something right.

"I believe that humans have a tendancy to...write things in their own words, add in their own views and their own prejudice to make the writing different, perhaps there is something in their writings about the influences of demons, that we as angels don't feel...or shouldn't do."

Humming a little when Richard told her what the collection of papers was, Razial took them and looked through them briefly, deciding that they warrented a more thorough look through, she placed them in her satchel, and began looking elsewhere for more documents.

"They will come in useful, although now is not the time to look at them in depth, I think we should continue to look, there may be more places where knowledge is hidden and we may need to go further down into the other Vatican vaults."

Richard chuckled a little bit. Razial really did seem rather diplomatic. She'd basically just summed up that humans talk bullshit a lot of the time about their beliefs, adding lies and mistakes on top of the truth. Or what may not actually be the truth. He didn't know what the truth was anymore than any human did at this point,

"That's a bit of an understatement." he replied with a small smirk, "Humans tend to blantantly lie in anyway as long as it will benefit them. Part of being human I guess. But maybe you're right. Maybe they've had contact with some powerful demons in the past or something? I mean... something like that would stick out right?"

Glad that he seemed to have found something of actual worth, Richard smiled a little bit wider before glancing around the little vault room. He frowned a little bit before nodding,

"I'm sure there's more relevant information further down, I... I don't know how to explain it but..." he shuffled nervously, "I can feel... death, from lower in the vault. Not as in... murder or anything like that. Death of starvation. Humans, dozens of them, further into the vault. I think they were looking hard for any answers that might be found."

Razial nodded her head at what Richard said, there were far more dealings done between humans and demons than demons and angels and she hoped that there would be something between the Vatican that would help them to see if a human had wished for all of this death and destruction to occur.

Humming lightly she turned on her heel and made for the door;

"I believe we need to see the confessional records that have been sent here." she said briskly, as if Richard would understand why they needed to go and see the records, or even what they were in the first place.

When he told her the interesting news about the fact that there were more humans down in the vaults, as if they had been protecting something, there could be something to the statement or there could be nothing, after all, there were very many people probably trapped there when the electricity failed.

"We shall go and see then, and let's hope that you are wrong about your sense of death, for it is sad to see so many people die in one place..." she whispered lightly walking out of the room and down the corridor to find a new set of stairs.

Richard really was quite out of his depth right now. All these books and scrolls, in languages he had no idea how to read, were not exactly in his comfort zone. No Richard had always been more of a sports kind of guy. Squash and rugby mostly but no dead languages like Latin. Although, he reflected sadly, if the world kept going the way it was then all of the languages would be dead languages. He blinked a little as he followed her,

"We need to go see the whats in the wheres?" he muttered, "And why do we have to see them? Yeah... you've lost me here Razial."

He hoped that he was wrong about the feeling of death as well. Hell, he wasn't exactly experienced in this sort of thing so it was entirely possible that he'd gotten it wrong. He shook his head a little bit as they descended,

"I hope I'm not right..." he whispered, "But I'm afraid I might be."

Razial was a little surprised that there was a lack of knowledge of this basic Christian principle on Richard's behalf, although she was sure that he had not been a man of Faith in this prior life, so maybe that would explain it a little bit, humming to herself she walked down the stairs until she reached the electronic doors.

Turning to face Richard she said with a small smirk on her lips; "Honestly Richard, the transcripts from certain confessions are so important that the Priest cannot keep the issue to themselves, in the event of murder or rape, in this case, many have been sent here to do with demons and posession, so that it what we must look for now."

Gently she placed her hand on the panel and it sprung open with the temporary electric shock that was delivered to it, stepping through the door she left it open for Richard to follow her through, glad that he was now here with her, if he was right and this place was full of death, she would not wish to be here alone.

"Will you look through here? There may be dead and I don't really want to go first." she said nervously, even as her skin began to glow lightly in the dark of the rooms.
